It's unfortunate in a way that they conceived Majima around the same time as Kiryu because Majima could have gotten the Ichiban treatment if he came later. This is and has always been a saga about Kiryu. Majima as much as I hate saying it is NOT the main protagonist. Well the main answer to this is pretty obvious. So, the problem is mainly that Majima became famous post Y5, so it hard to re-implement him in 3-4-5. Yakuza 7 (2020): First time on screen team up with Saejima, enough to give Ichiban and the gang hell. Kiwami 2 (2018): Majima is somewhat playable again, with a story that closed his Y0 character arc. Yakuza 6 (2017): Supposedly Kiryu swan song, so no Majima is understandable Kiwami (2016): Since this is a unplanned remake, best they could do is Majima Everywhere mechanic Yakuza 0 (2015): This is Majima game, no doubt about it Ishin (2014): Okita Souji is a fun character for Majima, 2 boss fight, but also a bit underultilized Yakuza 5 (2012): More back story about him, but in general, I must agree that he is very underultilized in this game. Yakuza Deadsoul (2010): First time playable with a Spas-12 shotgun, making him the GOAT. Yakuza 4 (2009): Backstory revealed through Saejima story, which lead to his explosion in popularity, also one boss fight. Yakuza 3 (2008): Assist Daigo in running Tojo, 2 boss fight, have new costume (black suit, red shirt), and a pink truck Kenzan (2007): play the role of Shisido Baiken, friendly rival of Miyamoto Musashi, firmly establish Kiryu and Majima relationship in RGG verse. Also Purgatory president and have one boss fight Yakuza 2 (2006): Antagonist turn allies, protect Kamurocho from Go-Ryu clan attack, then disarmed bombs. Yakuza (2005): one introduction scene, 2 time boss fight, serve as a minor antagonist If you think about the release order chronology speaking, then Majima revelancy is not as low as it seem.
